A strong political realignment has emerged in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State, as a group led by APC chieftain and relative of former Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, held a solidarity meeting in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held in Madobi, the hometown of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, attracted hundreds of APC supporters, including women and youth groups, who gathered to express their support for President Tinubu.
The event featured chants and songs in support of the President, with organisers describing the gathering as the emergence of a new political frontier aimed at mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Speaking at the event, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso said the political realignment in the Madobi area was unprecedented, noting that former political opponents had decided to work together in support of President Tinubu.
He said, “Madobi zone has never seen a realignment movement like the one we are handling now. This is because we are now realigning with forces that fought us 28 years ago.”
Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso also acknowledged the role played by former House of Assembly member and grassroots politician, Habibu Hassan Elyakub, in the political development of the area.
He explained that although the groups had previously contested against one another, sometimes winning and losing elections, they had now agreed to work together as a political bloc in support of President Tinubu.
He further urged supporters to protect the integrity of the electoral process, saying the large turnout of women and youths demonstrated their readiness to participate in the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, former House of Assembly member Habibu Hassan Elyakub said the alliance had strengthened the political structure supporting President Tinubu in the area.
He said the President could be confident of the support of the group, adding that Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso had continued to win elections in Madobi, from the local government chairmanship level to other political contests, despite the political influence of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the area.
Elyakub said the group was determined to mobilise voters and work towards securing victory for President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
The Woman Leader, Hajiya Assabe Diko, said women and youths would embark on a door-to-door campaign to mobilise support for the President.
She said the group would reach out to residents across communities in the area to sensitise them and encourage greater participation in support of the Tinubu administration.
Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso also highlighted some projects and initiatives of the Tinubu administration in Kano State, including the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway (AKKK), railway projects, road infrastructure and security-related interventions.
He described the projects as evidence of the administration’s commitment to development and urged residents to support the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The organisers said the political mobilisation in Madobi would continue as part of efforts to strengthen support for President Tinubu across the local government and Kano State.
