The Kano State Online Media Chapel has called on the state government to consider the upgrade and rehabilitation of community and rural roads ahead of the rainy season.
The Independent Mirror reports that this was announced by the Chairman of the Kano State Online Media Chapel, Comrade Abubakar A. Dangambo, on Saturday during the chapel’s first congress, which had representatives from various media platforms in attendance.
According to a communiqué issued by Aliyu Mudi Sulaiman, the congress deliberated on several key issues and activities, during the congress, both the Secretariat and Financial reports were read and adopted.
The congress approved a registration fee of N25,000 for new members, while members encouraged to familiarize themselves with the NUJ Constitution to understand their obligations, rights, and privileges.
The congress urged the state government to rehabilitate rural and community roads in preparation for the rainy season. It also appealed to the government to support farmers with agricultural inputs to ensure a bumper harvest.
Comrade Abubakar A. Dangambo welcomed all members and appreciated their efforts toward the formation of the chapel.
He explained that the meeting aimed to address issues surrounding the organization’s formation and the registration process for new members.
The chairman also encouraged members to uphold ethical standards in their reporting and to focus on disseminating stories that serve the public interest.
