Kano State Government has on Thursday released the repaired 70 Schools Buses to ease transportation difficulty for Girls students in the state.
The Independent Mirror reports that the government has also repaired another set of 30 TATA Kanawa Luxurious buses.
The state Commissioner of transport Engineer Mohd Ibrahim Diggol revealed this on Thursday while handing over the schools buses to the state Commissioner of education Alhaji Umar Haruna DoguwaDoguwa at a special event organised in Kano metropolis.
He said the administration would continue to ensure full maintenance of the vehicles so as to actualize it’s vision of improving the quality of education in the state.
Engineer Diggol disclosed that a total sum N106 million has been spent for the repairing work of the Buses.
Engineer Diggol therefore called on the drivers to make professional use of the Buses and ensure their proper maintainance.
Receiving the Buses, the state Commissioner of Education Alh. Haruna Umar Doguwa maintained that repairing the Schools Buses is a clear testumony of the administration of Abba Kabiru Yusuf of providing sound education in the state.
He assured of the present administration commitment to come up with policies and programmes towards improving the standard of education in Kano.
A statement issued by the Director Public Enlightenment in the Ministry of Education Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru said Doguwa further called on parents to make sure they prepare their kids on time to avoid coming late while joining the Buses.
