by Independent Mirror

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially secured their spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, after Libya’s crucial 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali on Tuesday.

The Independent mirror reports that Nigeria, who had already accumulated 10 points in their qualifying campaign, qualified without even stepping onto the field, as Libya’s win ensured they could not be caught in Group D.

The match in Kigali saw a dramatic late goal from Libya’s Saad Mohammad, who netted in the 84th minute to give the North Africans a vital three points.

The result breathed new life into Libya’s AFCON aspirations, bringing them to 4 points, still with a chance to qualify in their final match.

Rwanda, with 5 points, now faces a do-or-die scenario in their final qualifying match against Nigeria on Match Day 6.
