The Director of the National Productivity Centre, Hon. Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, has expressed his heartfelt joy and warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah as they usher in the New Islamic Year, 1447 After Hijrah (AH).
The Independent Mirror reports that in a statement released by Aminu Abba Kwaru, from National Productivity Centre, said Dan’agundi, emphasized that New Year presents an opportunity to renew commitment in serving Allah, our Creator so we can earn His blessing throughout the year.
Dr. Dan’agundi described the occasion as a moment of delight, reflection, and gratitude, having witnessed the peaceful conclusion of the past Islamic year and the graceful entrance into a new one.
He emphasized the significance of the sacred Month of Muharram, a period which symbolizes divine victory and spiritual reflection, referencing the triumph of Prophet Musa (AS) over Pharaoh a timeless lesson in divine justice, perseverance, and repentance.
“This sacred period calls for deep introspection and genuine repentance. It is a time to revisit our past actions and inactions, and seek Allah’s forgiveness, as He is always ready to pardon the sincere hearts that return to Him,” the message stated.
Hon. Dan’agundi expressed his hope that the year 1447AH will be fruitful, prosperous, and peaceful for all.
He prayed that it brings unity, harmony, and progress to Nigeria and the global Muslim community, transcending religious, political, and cultural differences.
Furthermore, Dr. Dan’agundi highlighted the need for love, kindness, and spiritual discipline, especially during challenging times, urging all to uphold regular prayers, charity (Sadaqah), exchange of goodwill, and unwavering commitment to divine principles.
As the new Islamic year begins, he calls on citizens to remain hopeful, positive, and resilient, praying that Allah (SWT) blesses the Ummah abundantly in all aspects of life.
