The Kano state-based Ibrahim Shitu Chanji leads Barau Football Club as chairman to advance to the first Nationwide League NLO Play-off promotion with Clever Warriors, winners of the Kano Centre, at Daura, Katsina State, on May 27, 2024.

The Independent Mirror reports that the Barau FC, for the first time playing NLO league after team was founded in the year 2021 In Sheka, Kumbotso LG Kano, State under Ibrahim Chanji.

Barau FC, under the Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, provided support and guidance for the players and the entire management to clinch the ticket promotion.

Chanji added player development, tactical innovation, work ethic, work team-rated team player, support relations and leader-mentorship.

Despite Ibrahim Chanji leading the team for the first time in history to play in Nationwide League One, where the Kano base showcased their support and secured the first NLO Play-off promotion.

Barau FC, emerged victorious as the Champions of the Dutse Centre, Jigawa State in the New year Mega Lottery Nationwide League One NLO 2023/2024 after winning all three matches in the Round-robin Stage.

Barau FC defeated ATK FC on Tuesday morning 2-1 in a match held at Dutse Stadium. Jigawa State Barau FC emerged at the top of the table with 9 points.

Earlier, Barau FC won all two matches in the NLO Round-robin match, including winning against Halfa FC 2-1 on day one at Dutse Stadium, followed by winning against Hausawa United 2-1 at Dutse Sports Complex on Monday.

Also, Barau FC played five group stage matches in the NLO Dutse Center A, where Maliya boys emerged top of the table after winning four matches.

Additionally, in a thrilling New Year Mega Lottery NLO 2024, Barau FC placed in Dutse Center group A, as Maliya Boys played 5 matches, 4 wins, and 1 loss.

Now, Barau FC, advanced to the first NLO Play-off promotion, and Maliya boys will face Clever Warriors, at Daura, Katsina State on May 27, 2024, with hopes of securing the final play-off to place in the prestigious Nigeria National League next season.

Ibrahim Chanji thanked Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, who provided brand-new jerseys, football boots, among other kits to Barau Football Club.

Senator Barau, who is the financier of the amateur club Barau FC based in Kano, has been supporting football and other sporting activities in the state and beyond to promote peace, unity and engage the young people.

Chanji also thanked the coaches, crew, management and other top officials of Barau FC, who have provided tireless support and dedication, vision and commitment towards this remarkable achievement for the club Barau FC.
