Governor Yusuf Gifts 10,000 Free JAMB Forms to Kano Secondary Students

The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated the distribution of 10,000 free JAMB forms to secondary school students across the state.

The Independent Mirror reports that the, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Information, Ibrahim Adam, stated that the initiative reflects the Governor’s commitment to enhancing the education sector.

Ibrahim Adam highlighted several milestones achieved by the administration over the past 22 months.

At the flag-off ceremony, Governor Yusuf, represented by the Commissioner of Education, Ali Haruna Makoda, also launched training sessions for the beneficiaries on computer-based test (CBT) methods.

Ali Haruna Makoda noted that these sessions will be held at designated centers throughout Kano State.

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Education, Alhaji Tajuddin Gambo, added that transportation will be provided for all beneficiaries during the training period.

He urged the students to take the training seriously and perform well in the examination, noting that successful candidates would be considered for admission into top schools.

One of the beneficiaries, Fatima Mukhtar Umar, expressed her gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the free JAMB form and pledged to make good use of the opportunity.

The Governor’s achievements in education include the reintroduction of foreign and domestic scholarships, the reopening of 21 skills acquisition centers, renovation of primary and secondary schools, construction of new classrooms, provision of classroom furniture and writing materials, and the distribution of free school uniforms to primary pupils.

Other accomplishments mentioned by Ibrahim Adam include a 50% reduction in registration fees for state-owned tertiary institutions, cash conditional transfers to support girl-child education, and the payment of registration fees for NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS examinations.

Governor Yusuf encouraged all beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity and strive for academic excellence, emphasizing that the future belongs to those who work hard to turn.
