Dantata’s funeral prayer time, venue announced

The funeral prayer for late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a Kano-based business tycoon has been scheduled to hold on Saturday by 2:00 pm.

The Independent Mirror reports that a grandchild to late Dantata, Sanusi Dantata, announced the death on Saturday on his X page.

Sanusi said the septuagenarian passed away in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, UAE, some hours ago.

“Indeed, from Allah we are and to Him we shall return!

“Pls pray for Alh. Aminu Dantata, who passed away a couple of hours ago in Abu Dhabi.

Announcing the funeral arrangement, Chairman, Kano Council of Ulama, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil said the funeral prayer, which would be performed in absentia (salatul ga’ib), would hold at Umar Bin Kattaf Mosque in Kano.

He urged the general public to endeavour to attend the funeral prayer and pray for the soul of late Dantata.

The deceased’s remain would be buried in Madina, Saudi Arabia, near the grave of his late wife, and Dantata passed away, aged 94.

According to his family sources, Dantata writes a will before his death that whenever he passes on, he should be buried near his wife in Madina.
