In a bid to ease the transportation burden of Nigerians during this yuletide, President Bola Tinubu has approved a fifty percent rebate of the current transport fare for interstate travels across Nigeria.
The Independent Mirror reported that Similarly, Nigerians will enjoy a hundred percent discount or zero fare for journeys on trains.
Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Presidential Intervention, Dele Alake, announced this today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mr Alake, who is also the minister of solid minerals, said the special presidential intervention is with effect from 21st December, 2023 to 4th January, 2024.
While announcing that measures have been taken to eliminate any encumbrances, Mr Alake said the various security agencies have been directed to provide watertight security across the country.
