A member of the Kano State House of Assembly representing Ungogo Local Government Area, Hon. Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo, has died in Kano.
The Independent Mirror reports that the death of the lawmaker was confirmed on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State House of Assembly, Kamaludeen Sani Shawai, in a statement sent to journalists.
According to Shawai, Hon. Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo developed a sudden illness shortly after arriving at the Assembly earlier in the day.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where medical personnel later confirmed his death.
The late lawmaker was said to have passed away in the evening.
Shawai added that funeral prayers for the deceased would be conducted at about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The death of Hon. Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo has thrown the Kano State House of Assembly and the Ungogo constituency into mourning, as colleagues, constituents, and political stakeholders continue to pay tributes to his service.
