Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has approved the promotion of Dr. Sani Umar Rijiyar Lemo OON, to the rank of Professor of Hadith in the Islamic Studies department.
The Independent Mirror reports that the university approved the promotion of the Sheikh Sani Rijiyar Lemo as professor in a statement released on December 27th, 2024.
Dr. Sani Umar Rijiyar Lemo OON, was a lecturer with Bayero University Kano many years ago, he has a master’s degree from the prestigious Islamic university of Madinah.
A post on the verified Facebook page of a Sheikh Sani Umar Rijiyar Lemo from islamic department, Bayero University Kano, announced the promotion on Friday, noting that the promotion takes effect from October 2023.
Professor Rijiyar Lemo has authored reputable books as a contribution to islamic knowledge production including Fayyataccen Bayani, a tafseer of the Qur’an written in Hausa language in the year 2020, Dhawābidhul Jarh wa Al-Ta’deel, Nabiyyur Rahmah, a biography of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.
Others, Tamāmul Tawfeeq, a biography of the First Caliph Abubakar al-Siddeeq (RA), Umarul Fāruq, a biography of the Second Caliph Umar Al-Fāruq (RA), Labarin Ɗaluta da Jaluta, a reflection of the Qur’anic story of Ṭālūt (Saul) and Goliath, taking lessons in leadership and politics.
