Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has relieved Engr. Buba Galadima of his position as Chairman of the Governing Council of Kano State Polytechnic.
The Independent Mirror reports that the development was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday.
The governor has consequently approved the appointment of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, as the new Chairman of the Governing Council of the institution.
The decision to relieve Engr. Buba Galadima of the position followed the ongoing restructuring and alignment with the Kano First Agenda.
Although the tenure of the Governing Council is three years, the appointment of the chairman was terminated before its expiration due to ongoing reforms aimed at achieving optimal performance at the polytechnic.
Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Engr. Buba Galadima for the services he rendered to the institution during his tenure as chairman of the Governing Council.
He also urged the newly appointed chairman, the Emir of Gaya, to bring his wealth of experience, leadership, and commitment to bear in repositioning Kano State Polytechnic for greater academic and administrative excellence.
