The Barau Football Club, has announced that the team will participate in the upcoming Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season 2024 Tournament in Plateau State.
The Independent Mirror reports that a statement signed by Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Barau FC Media Officer, disclosed that, as part of efforts to present a formidable team, the club decided to participate in the tournament.
In a letter sent to Barau FC, the coordinator of the tournament, Abahuraira Dahiru, said the committee has started sending invitation letters to the teams that indicate their interest in participating in the competition.
The Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season 2024 tournament is scheduled to be held in Jos, Capital city of Plateau State between Tuesday 13th to Sunday 25th August 2024.
Also, all the participants clubs are expected to arrive at the Plateau State on Monday 12th August for draws and pre-match formalities as games commence on the following day, Tuesday 13th.
The Pres-eason soccer tournament, presents clubs with the needed opportunity to fine-tune and integrate both new and old players to form solidity going into the new season to compete for laurels.
The tournament will involve sixteen clubs from Nigerian Football Premier League NPFL clubs, as well as Nigerian National League NNL clubs.
According to the Tournament Coordinator, Abahuraira Dahiru Said, the President of NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON, would declare the opening tournament.
While the Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Muftwang will be a special guest of honour, and Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Yahya Kwande will be the chief host.
The Barau Football Club, has already been Promoted to the Nigerian National League NNL next season, following victory against Yoca Crocodiles in the NLO Promotion Play-off match in Abuja.
