The Independent Mirror reported that this was Contained in a statement signed by the Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Naisa Media officer to His Highness on 16th January, 2023
Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero said the Supreme Court judgement is a reflection of people’s choice and true democracy that ensures legitimate and responsive leaders to the expectations of the electorates.
“According to a statement contained in his congratulatory massages the Emir commended the good people of Kano state for making the right choice that will ensure continuity in policies and programmes for the development of the state”.
He finally prayed to almighty to protect the governor from seen and unseen enemies and give him the courage to fulfill his campaign promises and discharge his duties diligently and successful.
The Independent Mirror reported that the Supreme Court’s ruling on January 12, 2024, brought a resolution to the legal battle, confirming Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) as the legitimate leader of Kano State.
However, the notable lack of congratulatory statements from five Emirs has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation.
The five Emirs – Kano, Rano, Karaye, Gaya, and Bichi – hold significant cultural and traditional influence within Kano, with their pronouncements carrying considerable weight.
In other hand , the remaining Four Kano Emirs yet to extend congratulatory messages to the Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf.
Their silence, therefore, stands in stark contrast to the demonstrative congratulations offered by politicians, religious leaders, and ordinary citizens.
