Adamu Ibrahim Clinches SWAN MVP as Barau FC Eyes Super Eight Spot

Barau Football Club forward, Adamu Ibrahim, has been awarded the prestigious Man of the Match title by the Kano State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) following his outstanding performance, including a fantastic goal, as Barau FC defeated Wikki Tourists 2-1.

The Independent Mirror reports that Barau FC secured a vital victory on Matchday 11 of the 2024/2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) season, held on Sunday at the Dambatta Stadium in Kano State.

Barau FC took the lead in the 31st minute through Adamu Ibrahim, who netted his second goal of the season with an assist from Sugau Aliyu.

Wikki Tourists responded in the 37th minute with an equalizer from Wonderson. However, Barau FC regained the lead early in the second half as Sai’du Salisu converted a penalty in the 47th minute, marking his third goal of the season.

The match ended 2-1 in favor of Barau FC, who picked up three crucial points to keep their promotion hopes for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) alive.

Also, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has commended Barau Football Club for their impressive victory over Wikki Tourists in the Nigerian National League (NNL) 2024/2025 season

With the victory Barau FC now sits second in the NNL Southern Conference C with 18 points from 11 matches.

Also Barau FC will face Mighty Jets of Jos on Matchday 12 at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday, a single point from the match will be enough to secure their place in the NNL Super Eight.
