Dantata endorses parliamentary systems of govt in Nigeria

Foremost Kano Industrialist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata on Thursday threw his weight behind calls to migrate to parliamentary system of government from the presidential system.

The Independent Mirror reported that on Wednesday a group of over 60 members of House of Representatives brought up the issue seeking migration from the presidential system to a parliamentary system.

Aminu Dantata who spoke at his country home at Koki quarters of ancient Kano city, on Thursday when he received 60 House of Representatives members advocating migration to parliamentary system, declared that the system is cheaper in the face of present circumstances confronting Nigeria as a nation-state.

Dantata said, “I’m an apostle of the parliamentary system of government in Nigeria, it’s cheaper, responsive, and cost-effective in our present circumstances”.

The non-agenarian who hosted the advocate of parliamentary system noted that the system is “manageable” in the face dwindling economy.

The leader of the team, Kingsley Chinda who enumerated the merits of the parliamentary system said they have sponsored 3 bills so far to quicken it at the Green chamber.
