The President of the Senate, Senator. Godwils Akpabio, has appointed Kawu Sumaila OFR as Chairman of the Senate Sports Committee.
The Independent Mirror reported that the Kawu Sumaila appointment came directly from SP on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, plenary session.
In a statement signed by Abbass Adam Abbas, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Kawu Sumaila, said Appointed Kawu will play a role in protecting the interests of athletes and promoting sports development in a country.
This appointment reflects the Senate’s commitment to promoting a vibrant sporting culture and providing opportunities for our talented young athletes to shine.
The Senate President then urged Senator Kawu Sumaila to live upto the expectations of the 10th Senate reposed on him.
