Nigeria Customs Service, Eastern Marine Command, Port Harcourt, said it intercepted different wildlife and other contrabands with a duty paid value of N680m.
The Independent Mirror reported that the command’s Spokesperson, Emmanuel Tangwa, disclosed this in a statement today, revealed that the various contrabands were intercepted at different waterways within the command.
Tangwa added that the seizures showed Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, noted that the interception represented a significant blow to the illicit trade of endangered species.
