The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially approved the composition of sub-committees ahead of its 2026 National Convention, signaling a move to ensure a transparent and credible process.
The Independent Mirror reports that this was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The party explained that the sub-committees have been tasked with coordinating essential operational, administrative, electoral, logistics, security, delegates’ accreditation, and programme activities necessary for the seamless execution of the convention.
Leadership positions for each committee have been strategically allocated to senior party members and leaders across various sectors.
Key appointments include H.E. Abiodun Oyebanji as Chairman of the Aspirants’ Screening Committee; H.E. Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari as Chairman of the Election Committee; and H.E. Sen. Godswill Akpabio as Chairman of the Ceremonial, Programme and Events Committee.
Professor Babagana Umara Zulum will serve as Chairman of the Delegates’ Accreditation Committee, while Senator Barau Jibrin has been appointed Vice Chairman of one of the key convention committees.
Other notable appointees include H.E. Siminalayi Fubara, H.E. Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and H.E. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, who will serve in leadership roles across critical committees.
The APC has urged all committee members to execute their duties with diligence, emphasizing strict adherence to the party’s constitution and approved operational guidelines.
The party reassured members, stakeholders, and Nigerians of its commitment to conducting a credible and transparent National Convention that will strengthen internal democracy and consolidate its progressive ideals.
