Six players from Barau Football Academy have been selected to play for various clubs in Holland and the United Kingdom.
The Independent Mirror reported that this came after the Rocha’s football tournament concluded in Abuja last week.
The sponsored 4-day tournament with 10 different clubs was organised to scout players across the country.
Earlier, the organisers invited two agents from Holland and the United Kingdom to scout the players.
The Barau Football Academy, six players were invited to play in Holland and UK clubs in a recent scouting program attended in Abuja.
The management and players of the academy on Monday call on to the founder of the club, Deputy President of the Senate at the National Assembly, Abuja.
Chairman of the Academy, Ibrahim Shehu Chanji said, since the establishment of the Academy two years ago, it has achieved a lot of success as some of the players are currently playing in African continent clubs.
“We are here in Abuja for a scouting program, and I am happy to inform you that six of our players have been selected to play for clubs in Holland and England.
“We also have other players in the Niger Republic and Congo. We will use this opportunity to thank you for the support you have been giving us”,
In his response, Senator Barau commended the management and players of the team for their success, urging them to sustain the tempo.
Barau reiterated his commitment to the development of sports in Kano and the country at all.
He added that, “the importance of sports in the contemporary world cannot be over-emphasized. Football plays a key role in preventing youths from engaging in criminal activities”,
The Barau Jibrin Football Academy was established in 2021 under Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin Maliya CON, in order to promote sports activities that will create employment and opportunities for youths.
