The Nigerian Police Force on Friday arrested the immediate past chairman, Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimigado.
The Independent Mirror reports that according to eyewitnesses, the police came in a truckload, fully armed in a Gestapo manner, allegedly threatening to shoot whoever prevented them from carrying out their act.
An eyewitness told that Rimigado was arrested at his Law Firm on Zaria road in Kano metropolis.
He asked them to show him the warrant of arrest or the reasons for his arrest, which they outrightly declined.
They claimed to come from the Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, ’’ one of the eyewitnesses said.
”When we got to the Bompai Police headquarters, we were told that the police team are from the IGP Squad in Abubakar, a lawyer in his chamber, Ridwan Zakariyya confirmed.
”They tried to seize my phone, threatening that they would shoot me, the lawyer said.
Presently, the police team just drove out of Bompai Police Headquarters to an unknown destination.”
When contacted, Kano Police Command Spokesman, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, told SolaceBase to give ample time to find out the alleged arrest.
