The Forum of Information Officers in Kano State has expressed profound appreciation to the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, for his outstanding contributions to the development of the state’s information sector.
The Independent Mirror reports that the commendation was made by the Chairman of the Forum, Comrade Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai, during a media interaction in Kano.
In a statement signed by the Forum’s Secretary, Sharif Zaharaddeen Kofar Nassarawa, the group also commended the current administration of Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for its commitment to ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism in information dissemination.
The Kano State Government, through the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, announced plans to begin rewarding the best-performing information officers as a way of motivating excellence in the field.
As part of this initiative, the Commissioner organized a 2-day capacity-building workshop for local government information officers on promoting healthy eating habits. Themed “Promoting Healthy Dietary Practices and Reducing the Incidence of Diet-Related Non-Communicable Diseases in Kano State,” the workshop aimed to enhance the role of information officers in public health awareness.
The Forum also lauded Comrade Waiya for his tireless efforts in revitalizing and strengthening the state’s information dissemination system.
Additionally, the Forum commended the Kano State Government for sponsoring the Vice Chairman of the Forum, Comrade Munzali Muhammad Hausawa, to attend the National Conference of the Nigerian Guild of Editors held in Enugu State.
The Forum called on the good people of Kano State to continue supporting the present administration to ensure sustainable development and progress across all sectors.
