The Member representing Gwale Local Government in the Kano State House of Assembly, Abdulmajid Isah Umar Mai Rigar Fata, has unvailed sponsored 501 students at Kano State Polytechnic.
The Independent Mirror reports that the sponsor program was held on Sunday, at School of Management Kano, with Kano Deputy Governor and Gwale Local Governments Stakeholders attending the event.
The 501 students are to study various courses at Basic and Remedial Studies, National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels at the Kano State Polytechnic.
The Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has expressed his satisfaction with the Gwale Member effort, calling others to do something like what Mai Rigar Fata did.
Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, emphasized the need for more effort expecillay in the education sector, both in Kano Local Governments.
In his remarks, the Member representing Gwale Local Government in the Kano State House of Assembly, Abdulmajid Isah Umar Mai Rigar Fata, said he decided to make this commitment in consideration of the importance of educating the youth.
He added that the consideration of the importance of young people is very important, expecially for giving them entrepreneurial skills which will make them useful members of society.
“I want to follow in the footsteps of our leader, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, that is why I started with 501 students”, Mai Rigar Fata said.
He further maintained that he chooses to enroll them into the Polytechnic as it remains famous as a citadel of rich academic excellence, especially in the area of skills acquisition.
The Rector of Kano State Polytechnic Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, repsenting by Registrar Malam Mukhatar Ibrahim Bello expressed his delight over the development, adding that it will elevate the status of the Hon. Members and the good people of Gwale Local Government.
He thanked the member for his bold step to change the lives of 501 students and, by extension, society at large.
