DSP Barau Submits Nomination Form, Seeks Support for Re-Election Bid

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The Independent Mirror reports that Senator Barau, who represents Kano North Senatorial District, submitted the completed forms at 1:45 p.m. at the Treasures Suites and Conferences Hotel, Abuja, on Thursday.

The Deputy Senate President expressed gratitude to his constituents for their continued support, pledging to remain focused on their welfare.

“Insha Allah, we will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges confronting our people and to advance programmes and initiatives that improve their lives,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to his constituents, adding, “Our commitment to the welfare, progress and development of our constituents across the 13 Local Government Areas of Kano North Senatorial District remains our highest priority. This is the essence of our service and the true purpose of politics.”

Barau has emerged as one of the most prominent legislative figures from the North-West geopolitical zone, rising to the position of Deputy President of the Senate following the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly in June 2023.
