Barau Football Club has picked up a crucial point in the Nigerian National League (NNL) match day six against Zamfara United, on Sunday at the FIFA Goal Project Stadium, Birnin Kebbi.
The Independent Mirror reports that Osondu Jonathan netted the goal in the 50th minute, just a few minutes into the second half, following an assist by Murtala Ibrahim.
But the host team, Zamfara United, equalized in the 81st minute.
Salim Ali, Barau FC’s goalkeeper, made several impressive saves, conceding only one goal in the 90 minutes.

With this away point, the Maliya boys hope to return stronger in the NNL’s second round.
In his post-match interview, Barau FC’s Interim Technical Adviser, Rabi’u Tata, expressed satisfaction with his players’ efforts.
He assured that the team would bounce back in the second round of the league.
Barau FC climbed to fifth place with 6 points in six matches in the NNL Conference C table.
The Maliya boys will host Zamfara United on Match day seven on February 15, 2025, at Dambatta Stadium, Kano State.
