The board of the Kano State Super League, has declared a mid-season break following the conclusion of the first round of matches this season.
The Independent Mirror reports that, the body has declared a three-week mid-season break for the clubs to extend the holiday to the new year 2025.
The first round of the KSSL 2024, has concluded this week with 8 matches played across 16 teams participating in the tournament.
The results of the match day eight, included Barau U-19 thrashing Tactical FC 5-1, Shield City beating Famous Spiders 6-3, Clever Warriors 2-1 Elmer FC and Junior Pillars goalless 1-1 with Pillars U-19.
Meanwhile, Prime Eagles beat Alfindiki 3-1, Ahzuba FC won against Matasa FC 3-1,Dream Big FA 3-1 ProLine, and Kano Cars defeated Continue 8-2.
A total of 41 goals were scored across all 8 matches, as Naziro Gero from Prime Eagles remained the highest goalscorer with 11 goals.
Meanwhile, Ahzuba FC ended the first stanza as league leaders with 22 points, the same point as Kano Pillars U-19 in second position.
Shield City FA, Clever Warriors, Junior Pillars, Elmer FA and Barau U-19 occupied third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions with 21, 16, 16, 15, 13 points respectively.
The league is expected to resume in the last week of January 2025 with the second round of matches, as FC Continue Mandawari remains in the relegation position with 3 points from eight matches.
