Barau FC Goalkeeper Salim Wins NLO Player of the Season

Barau Football Club Goalkeeper Salim Ali, has been named the Nationwide League One NLO Player of the Season 2023/2024.

The Independent Mirror reports that In a statement signed by Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Barau FC Media Officer said, the Kano State Football Association announced this on Saturday.

The Kano State Football Association has organized grand event night awards 2023/204 for outstanding performers in five different league-owned.

KSFA has awarded the outstanding performances of individuals, organizations and other stakeholders, with events attended by NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Dr. Sharif Rabiu Inuwa Alhalan KSFA Chairman.

Others, Shaikh Ibrahim Khalil, the Kano State chairman Council of Ulama, Kabiru Dahiru Sule Chairman Kano State Assembly on Youth and Sport, Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye Special Adviser to Kano Governor on Youth and Sport.

Barau FC’s goalkeeper Salim Ali has been one of the most highlighted players for the team this season and quite possibly also one of the main reasons why Maliya boys gained NNL Promotion tickets.

Barau Football Club has conceded only 8 goals in all ten matches in the Nationwide League One NLO this season, as Salim Ali played 5 matches, 1 assist and conceded 3.

After receiving the award, Salim Ali said: “To win this award is an achievement for my team that I am extremely proud of.”

“I’ve been very happy with the way I have played this season and am really pleased that I have been able to contribute to my team’s promotion throughout the season,”

The award was decided by Kano State Football Association KSFA, combined with the stakeholders and other responsible people in the sports activities in the State.

The 23-year-old, who had an important goal for Barau FC, after scoring a goal in the penalty shootout against Yoca Crocodiles in the NLO Promotion Play-off match at FIFA Goal Project Stadium, Abuja two weeks ago.
