Dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I am writing to you Again with a sense of urgency and deep concern regarding the current political situation in Kano State, which has the potential to escalate into a crisis jeopardizing the peace and stability not only in Kano but throughout Nigeria.
The Independent Mirror reported that Recent events have given rise to apprehensions among the residents of Kano, stemming from perceived injustices and the alleged use of federal influence to manipulate the democratic will of the people.
If not addressed promptly, there is a real and imminent risk of widespread protests that may surpass the scale of the END SARS movement.
During the END SARS protests, Kano State abstained from participation, contributing significantly to the containment of the protests.
However, the current situation, marked by the dissatisfaction of residents over the imposition of leadership contrary to their democratic choice of Abba Kabir Yusuf as duly elected governor, poses a substantial threat to the peace we have enjoyed.
There is a growing sentiment of injustice and manipulation of the democratic and judiciary process, leading to a loss of faith in the system among Kano residents.
The dissatisfaction with the imposed leadership could spark protests that extend beyond Kano, potentially evolving into a nationwide movement.
The consequences could be more profound than those witnessed during the END SARS protests.
Peace and stability in Kano are vital not only for the region but for the entire country. The imposition of leadership against the democratic choice of the people could disrupt the peace we have worked hard to maintain.
I respectfully appeal to you Mr. President to address their concerns and working towards a resolution that respects the democratic will of the people and also take proactive steps to prevent potential unrest by addressing the root causes of dissatisfaction and ensuring a fair and transparent judiciary judgement in the Supreme Court.
Mr. President, the peace and stability of Kano are integral to the overall well-being of Nigeria. I implore you to use your esteemed office to intervene in this matter, safeguarding democracy and preventing any potential crisis that may arise from the dissatisfaction of the people.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I trust in your leadership to guide our nation through these challenging times.
To be continues until our pledge are heard….
Sincerely,
Amb. Yusuf Jibrin Oyoyo
