The Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye, has appointed TikTok personality who led a recent underwear campaign in Kano Aisha Musa as Special Adviser on Women Affairs.
The Independent Mirror reports that Teemacool gained public attention after leading a group of women who displayed underwear during the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to Kano State.
The incident drew criticism from individuals and groups within and outside Kano, including Islamic clerics.
The display, which was reportedly intended to mock the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement and former godfather of Governor Abba Yusuf, sparked controversy after some blogs alleged that the underwear formed part of the state government’s empowerment programme.
The governor, who was seen introducing Teemacool to the First Lady during the visit, later distanced himself from the incident.
Amidst the backlash, the Nasarawa Local Government chairman approved her appointment, citing her contributions and commitment to the development of the local government area.
In an appointment letter signed by the council secretary, Ado Mohammed Hotoro, the council said the appointment took effect from April 22, 2026.
“With pleasure and honour, I wish to write and convey the Local Government Council approval for your appointment to serve as Women Affairs [Special Adviser] with effect from 22nd April, 2026,” the letter read in part.
It added that the appointment was based on “merit, honesty, hard work and contributions towards the development of Nasarawa Local Government.”
The council also urged her to abide by all rules and regulations guiding the local government administration.
