Kano Botanical Garden Launches Tree Planting Campaign

The Kano Botanical Garden has launched a Tree Planting Campaign at Hotoro Tsamiyar Boka in Nassarawa Local Government, as part of efforts to combat climate change and restore the environment.

The Independent Mirror reports that the program took place on Saturday at the palace of the Hotoro Village Head in Nassarawa Local Government, Kano State.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Garden, Professor Fatima Batul Mukhtar, said the essence of the campaign was to underscore the importance of plants in human life.

She added that the Garden will continue to organize similar campaigns in other areas of the state to help people understand the benefits of planting trees.

On his part, the Village Head of Hotoro, Alhaji Yahya Hotoro, appreciated the Kano Botanical Garden team for conducting the tree planting exercise, which he said holds great historical significance and benefits the community.

The Kano Botanical Garden has so far established nearly 55 plantations in the Nassarawa Local Government area, emphasizing the importance of tree planting across the state.
