Deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Barau I. Jibrin, joined hundreds of worshippers at the Kabo Eid Mosque, located in the Kano North Senatorial District, to observe the Eid-el-Kabir prayer.
The Independent Mirror reports that the prayer, which marked the commencement of the Eid festivities, was led by Imam Jaafar Kabo.
In his sermon following the two raka’at prayers, Chief Imam Jaafar Kabo called on Muslims to show kindness and extend support to the less privileged.
He also urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he strives to improve the country’s fortunes.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the prayers, Senator Barau Jibrin reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges.
“The President is doing his utmost to address these challenges. We should continue to support and pray for him to succeed, for the good of our beloved nation,” he stated.
“I extend my warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, a festival of sacrifice,” Barau added.
Senator Barau also toured his hometown, exchanging Sallah greetings with community elders, relatives, friends, supporters, and well-wishers, reflecting the true spirit and teachings of the season.
Prominent dignitaries attended the prayers, including Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, Chief of Staff to Senator Barau, Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Professor Shehu Maaji, Managing Director of the NWDC; Shitu Madaki Kunchi, as well as other legislative aides among others.
