WAFU U-20: Flying Eagles ready for Burkina Faso clash on Friday – Babs

The Nigerian U-20 club has completed final preparations as the team will take on their counterparts from Burkina Faso on Friday, in their first match in the 2024 WAFU Zone B U-20.

The Flying Eagles media officer Babs Sharif Abdallah said that during an interview with the Independent mirror correspondent on Thursday .

Sharif Abdallah, revealed that the team had its first training session on Wednesday morning at the Omnisport Mini Stadium in Lomé, which lasted for 1 hour 30 minutes.

He said the team had also completed a second exercise at the same venue on Thursday, with a training session attended by all 20 players ahead of the Burkina Faso on Friday.

The Flying Eagles under Coach Aliyu Zubair on Tuesday released a list of 20 players to fly Nigeria’s flag at the championship, which serves as a qualifying tournament for next year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

Recall that the Flying Eagles won the last edition of the competition staged in Niamey, and the Flying Eagles will face Burkina Faso on Friday, in their first match of the competition.

The Flying Eagles will also play against Cote d’Ivoire in a three-team Group B, with the two best teams to reach the semi-finals.
