Kano Pillars Football Club has seek the Nigerian Premier Football League NPFL, to postpone a match against Eyimba International due to lack of funds that may threaten of failing to travel to Aba to play against Enyimba on Wednesday.
The Independent Mirror reports that this was contained in a letter written on Monday 1 April 2024, by Comrade Sani Ibrahim, Coach Secretary to the Board.
Therefore, he requested the Chief Operating officer, NPFL, Davidson Ezenwa, seek him to do as much as he could to rearrange the initial day of the match between Pillars and Enyimba.
Comrade Sani Ibrahim said, following challenges and constraints facing Kano Pillars, the team may be hindered from traveling to Aba in Abia for the Match 28 encounter with Eyimba International.
He added that Kano Pillars is facing a serious lack of funds wich may hinder it’s planned journey to Abia State.
“While anticipating a simple resolution today, Monday 1st April 2024, the board feels it imperative to inform the organisers of the NPFL about the current predicaments so that necessary arrangements may be put in place for rescheduling the programme”,
“Therefore, the Board is fully aware of the logistics and implications involved, Kano pillars in fairness are expected to shoulder the responsibilities of such unforeseen circumstances that might have been experienced previously under NPFL “, Comrade Sani Ibrahim said.
The match between Kano Pillars and Enyimba is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 3, in Aba, Abia state, but for now the Kano Pillars have yet to arrive in Abia.
Kano Pillars is currently in the 6th position with 41 points in 27 games played in the Nigerian Premier League for the 2023/2024 season.
