The Nationwide League One of Nigeria, announced that the Barau Football Club has been elevated to participate in the National League One Division next season.
The Independent Mirror reported that this was contained in the letter signed by Olushola Ogunnowo, the Chief Operating Officer, on Wednesday 20 December 2023.
Olushola Ogunnowo in the letter said “Based on reforms in the Nationwide League One as approved by the highest decision-making organ of the League (The NLO Congress)”
“Sequel to the above, the club Barau Football Club will be In the 2024 season playing in the Division One Cadre of the Nigerian Nationwide League One. I kindly liaise with Kano State Football Association for further information on player’s registration and other documentation as regards continued participation in the NLO One for the 2024 Season”, according to the letter.
Recall that the board of the Nationwide League One has directed its secretariat to commence registration for the 2024 season.
The NLO has amended the registration charges due to the inflation rate in the country. Also, NLO said all clubs have been directed to register on FIFA CONNECT, before proceeding on the NLO page.
The collection of players’ hard copy licenses will commence from next year on 15th January 2024 new Season.
Club registration closes on Friday, 1st March, 2024, as the 2024 season will kick off on 13th April 2024.
The Barau Jibrin Football Club was established in 2021 under Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin Maliya CON, in order to promote sports activities that will create employment and opportunities for youths.
On his part, the Chairman of the Barau FC, Ibrahim Shehu Chanji said, since the establishment of the Club two years ago, it has achieved a lot of success as some of the players are currently playing in African continent clubs.
